New in the world of straight razor shaving

Thanks to all the great information contained on this site, I am now a proud user of a straight razor. Straight razor shaving is something I have always been curious about. I have always hated shaving with the cartridge razors I used before.

After browsing around the sight for a while, I picked up a beginner's shave set from Vintage Blades LLC. I couldn't be happier with the results I get from shaving with a straight razor The best part is, I actually enjoy shaving. I am not great a shaving yet, but I get better with each shave.

I have since picked up a set of bench stones to practice my honing. I have also picked up my first vintage blade on ebay to restore.

How exactly did that handgun come into play? Was that used to remove the stubborn hairs under your chin?

Well, I haven't figured out how to get them with the razor yet.

I'm right there with you. I just started straight shaving myself.

Thats so the hair stands on end before shaving.

the gun is because holding a knife to his own throat is not nearly dangerous enough

Wow using that CZ for a shave must be tough. And I thought feathers were aggressive.
