    Default problem with logging

Hey guys I have a strange problem: when the forum logs me off (idle kick) sometimes I can not log in (it sais it is logging me in but does nothing). It can be resolved (sometimes) by going to 'Home' and logging there. Does this happen to anyone else?

I've had it happen to me a few times, not just on this forum, others too actually, also using vBulletin

Basically I log in on one page... it says I logged in, but when I get back to the main page it doesn't think I'm logged in. I haven't figured out what causes it as usually I just go to another page and login and it works.

Happens to me when I use a PC but not when I use a Mac. Further evidence of the superiority of the Mac platform I think.

Will the flame ever end? I like them mac monitors ... they look futuristic and are perfect to operate. But enough of that. Any solution to the mentioned problem?

It's actually happened to me on both my Macs at home and my PC at work... I haven't found a pattern yet

I wasn't sure if it was IE on the PC at work, but good ol trusty Firefox on the PC has the same problem. Also get problems on SWMBO's PC laptop at home so it isn't the network/security settings at work either.

There are a couple things that can cause this. The standard advice is to clear your cookies.

What else you can try doing the next time that happens is look at the URL you're at. If it has the "www." in it, try removing it and then logging in. Sometimes, the cookies choke up on the whole "www." thing.
