Everything Came Together

I've been DE shaving for almost 9 months now. I've always wanted to have a BBS shave ATG but was never able to achieve it with a M3. I'd hoped that DE shaving would lead me to that nirvana and I was intrigued by the retro aspect of using a badger brush and safety razor. After a couple of months I reached a point were I could get a BBS shave WTG (definitely a DFS) but, alas, not when I rubbed my hand ATG. However, I was thoroughly enjoying the process and determined to never go back to the M3. Then, just under a month ago, I got a slant and found my shaves much closer to what I was looking for but not quite. 2 days ago I shaved using the 4-Pass technique as described in a sticky on this board which I had used quite a bit a few months ago while working on my technique. To my amazement everything came together and I had a pretty good BBS shave, even when I ran my hand ATG. Today, I have the day off so I went for a repeat and took my time. This is the best shave that I have ever had in the 24 years that I've been shaving. I just can't stop faceturbating. I have climbed to the top of the mountain and seen the other side and it is good. Sorry for the long-winded post. I have to go now and build an altar for my slant. I think I'm going to start a new religion.

I tried that once--didn't go over so well. Even my friends who are arguably alcoholics didn't care much for the idea of taking off a week surrounding New Years to do nothing but eat and get drunk.

Congrats on the BBS. I'm only about 9 weeks into it and still dealing with simply things like neck rash. My shaves are getting better and better, don't know why must be an unconsious perfecting of technique. I'm planning on ordering my slant as soon as mensbiz has them in stock. I've heard so much about them I can't wait..
