The Astra and G Yellow are pretty close in terms of sharpness.

Smoothness:

Astra (Platinum)

The Gillette Yellow is the best of the bunch, tho I like the Red IP's best. If you were thinking the Astra stainless, put it at the bottom of both lists.

I was thinking Astra Platinum.

I picked these 4 blades because they seem to be giving me a close and smooth shave. Have also tried Feather, Crystals and Merkurs but have gotten razor burn on my neck with them. I would also like to try the Swedish Gillettes but if they are going the way of the dinosaur it might not be worth pursuing them.
