Oil on new razor blades?

Hey guys,

I started using a DE razor about 3 weeks ago and I'm absolutely loving the shaving process. When I'm opening the wax paper for my new blade, I notice there is some oil/vaseline type goop on the center of the blade. Should I try and remove this or is this normal? Both Merkur and Feather blades have this stuff on them when they are brand new.

Also as a side note, I actually had to re-adjust the new Feather blade I put in today because when I tightened the top of my razor, the blade moved slightly off dead center. Haven't noticed that while using the Merkur's. Thanks!

some blade packages have some kinda stick to it to close the blade paper tightly
