Default Shavemac Genuine Horn Silvertip Brush

I just picked this brush up from SRD for $95.69. It's the standard silvertip with a genuine horn handle. He sold out of these really fast!

Diogenes Club is maybe the best scented shaving soap I´ve tried so far. Absolutely stunning product. You should order it!
Shave his belly with a rusty razor. Early in the morning!

Sweet. I think I use it on Saturday or Sunday. I jumped into to wet shaving big and fast that I have 8 different razors (12 total), more than that in different blades (even picked up 3 different vintage gillette blades) and about 15-20 creams/soaps. I've been trying to get through it all to see what I like. So I need to pick a blade to put in it. Go with something new or a favorite blade.

My first razor purchases in 55 years. The Rooney is replacing the sorry green handled thing on the right which is shedding like a mutt on a hot summer day. This may be its obituary. This just about completes my starter kit. Still want to try some preshave stuff.

I just got that TOBS sandalwood cream and even when I don't shave with it I still open it and sniff it.

Don't know whether it's the tobs, the merkur (non adjustable), or the crystal blades, but I just had the nicest shave in years. It was so pleasant that I did a fourth pass, which I never do because I take multiple swipes per pass, and also did the hardest thing on my face-the back to front swipe coming in just above the dip of the adam's apple. Even with all that swiping, I barely noticed the alcohol splash.

Very nice! Thanks for this, everyone here.

The whole bathroom now smells nice from that stuff.

lol. I was in Boots yesterday and just kind of felt compelled to buy it! I want to see how different it is to the aftershave... it does smell different as well. And nicer than the A/S IMO. I have to say the scent reminds me slightly of Pinaud Clubman.

Mosswood Shaving Cream arrived today. I cracked the tub open and the scent is exactly the same as the After Shave, of which I also ordered another bottle.

Default Seems I get two posts this week

TOBS Lemon & Lime, Shaving Shop, and Luxury SC.
    Omega SC.
    37C Slant, '72 SS.
    Vulfix 2234S
Bloc Osma, Leather Safety Razor Case

Of course I had to try out the gear, so I did a quick two-pass with the slant and TOBS L&L. I really found the citrus in this SC, that I had previously been looking for in the T&H Limes.
I actually found the slant less aggressive than my Progress. Perhaps I was just being too careful?

Did a little Bricks and Mortar shopping today (Yes Virginia, in the early 21 st century there were physical stores where you could buy goods). Came home with Proraso Green soap, Proraso Pre/Post, Nivea cream, Nivea extreme comfort ASB, some generic witch hazel, and a styptic pencil. Looking forward to my first Proraso shave tomorrow.

Came home to find IP's in the mailbox. Pretty good day.

Two more from the antique shop today, and they cleaned up nicely.

After doing a little research, I think this one is a Gillette HD Rocket

Not sure about this one, I am not sure if this is the original case.

    from dbay:

1910 ABC Pocket Edition (500B - plain case, gold)

Rocket 500 LD in gold -

in a pristine case with unopened blades (likely not contemporary?) - a bit of fading to the handle and the top edge of the center bar is worn. Except for those flaws... appears unused! (that's like saying a junky ol' anything is "in good shape for its age....)

and man, this thing is light!

Ha! that one'll be in the next entry...

[ and I haven't forgetten that you totally dissed the necessity of Merkur ownership in a different thread... and that right after I had bought yours!]

I scored a 1970 gold/black handled gillette super adjustable, It was pretty dirty but I'm in the process of cleaning it up and so far it appears to be in excellent condition with just some minor wear spots. Best 2 bucks I ever spent . I'll post some pics when she's all done...
