I'm working on my practice initials as we speak :) I wanted to wait for my shave to have a sense of what style of initial I wanted to give her.

My friend is coming over with a digital camera to take some real nice pictures and tomorrow I'll head to Hollywood and take my official thread photo with the Hollywood sign in the background.

I can't tell you how tempted I am to shave out my mohawk with her

but I think Bill might hunt me down and string me up

I'm sure I may have to repeat this a time or two because it will get buried in the multiple posts that follow, but those of you who will receive the razor, there is one important point I need to cover:

ü Do not use a cutting edge of any kind to cut through the cardboard mailing box as you will also invariably cut into the custom wood box inside because it is such a tight fit. Instead, carefully cut the tape covering the pull strip intended to open the mailing box and also cut the other tape that is, or should be, on the seams.

One more bit of instruction...

You do not have to use the oil that comes in the box. You can also use Ballistol, butcher block oil, or any light oil of your choice. Just go very very easy as it doesn't take much.

One drop on each side of the blade spread evenly. You shouldn't even be able to see the oil after you are done. Use a tissue to make a final wipe, close it up and send it off.

Came to this far too late but if you ever want to do this again - what a great idea! - I have contacts in such places as Morocco, Malawi, New Zealand, Australia, Mongolia, Thailand, Falkland Islands and Hong Kong. I guess that just about spans the globe! Just a thought!

Contacts in all those places? What a coincidence... me too. However, since you have that big contact list and it is, after all a great idea, why don't you start the same thing over across the pond yourself? I know it's not just a great idea just because I do it, so spread the love over there, brother.

Why not break out one of those fancy Dovo's it looks like you have plenty of and send it around for everyone to enjoy over there. I just know there are dozens of guys who would really like to shave with a trick Dovo. No need to wait around for me to do it again when it looks like you have so much to choose from. How 'bout it?

Just make sure you don't scuff up my Ellis or you're gonna need that coach of yours

Sunrise...yeah, me and you gonna have a little chat. Add to that the fact that my daughter is at this time just shy of 13 months old....I have some time to get older, crankier, and better armed.
