  1. Default New to the whole thing

So I actually found this website because I was looking for reviews of the rolling razor. After reading alot on here, I decided to go ahead and buy some stuff and give it a try. I bought a fatboy off of eBay, some feather blades, trumper's coconut soap, a bowl, mug, and brush (not sure of quality of brush). I think I did alright for starting out and hope to start enjoying shaving instead of dreading it.

Sounds like a good start in supplies. I too am pretty new, but it sure makes my mornings before work much much more enjoyable than the fusion ever did! I take it you didn't try the rolling razor? lol It's uhh different. What kind of brush you get? I started with a cheap one, but soon got a nice EJ best Badger Brush, and it just makes the experience that much better.

Sounds like you have selected some excellent choices...soon you will be experiencing some very satisfying "personal time" in front of your bathroom mirror. Only one suggestion...prior to breaking out the FEATHER blades...( some guys here swear by them) you would do yourself well to order a Blade SAMPLER pack from www.westcoastshaving.com . I really think this is the starting point for every DE shaver conversion. That way you might find that in the end the FEATHER blades were the right ones for your face....OR NOT! Lots of other choices in the sampler and John (B&B member letterk) is top notch and a respected member of our community.

Speaking of that....WELCOME to Badger & Blade!

    Fatboy? Feathers? Trumper's soap?

I wasn't that smart when I joined this place.

    Welcome to B&B!

Thanks, yea I have been on night shift and spent many hours reading the tutorials before I got started. I never thought there would be such a fan base for shaving.

I will check out that website and get a sampler pack and see the difference. I have a fusion now and I hate it. Hope this is better. At the very least, it will be cheaper.

I'd still be stuck using (and hating) my Schick Quattro if I hadn't found this place. Thank god for little things.

That's what they all say at the beginning. I did too...as this grows on you somehow you'll be able to justify buying something new out of every paycheck, and over time you will build up enough stuff for armageddon. Be forewarned!

Dude...nice kit. You are going to to be learning to shave in style. Enjoy it. Welcome aboard and don't be afraid to ask question, because you will have questions.
