Men-U / Omega

Anyone got both? I'm assuming the Omega's better, but by how much? Or is it? (remembering the last time I "assumed" something and was emphatically informed I was not correct!)

Honostly, IMO, I'd have to say that the Men-ü is better. If you want better that the Men-ü then I would say the Edwin Jagger synthetic.

i like the men-U but have no experience of the Omega, although i suspect the handle and craftmanship will be better

Are you asking about the boar brushes or the synthetic?

I think the mould to make the Men-U and Omega is the same. I have a badger Omega and a Men-U boar and the knob is identical (except Men-U doesn't have Omega printed under). In terms of quality I wouldn't know since I do not own a badger/boar/syntech of each...

I love my Men-u but if it dies, I would probably get an omega because they are easier to obtain!

Thanks for the replies! It is the boarhair examples I'm thinking of. Surprised that at least one member has both and prefers the Men-U and I'm certainly not unhappy that I have it. Had a quick look at the Wilkinson Sword one last night and it doesn't look too bad for the price, but it doesnt seem to have the density of knot to make it a "real" brush. Next on the list is possibly a Kent "8".

I have the Wilikinson and I use it quite often. When I bought the brush it was stiff and ugly but after 2 weeks the brush got softer and nicer, and now the bristles are very soft for a $5 boar brush. For the price it's a fun brush and you can't go wrong. I use creams and for face lathering you get good results. Bowl lathering is a bit of a challenge but doable.

I like my Men U brush better than my Omega.
It all depends if you face lather or bowl lather.
If you face lather the Men U wins everytime as the loft is shorter and firmer. If you bowl lather then the Omega is probably better as it definately holds much much more lather.
In my opinion though if you bowl lather then i would get a badger brush.
Boar brushes excel at face lathering but the Omega is just way too big!
