Asian Sampler & General Unfairness of Life

I promise this won't be TOO whiny

On Friday, I got my Barberculture Asian Sampler in the mail (after a month in transit! I think the Arko I ordered from Rene came in very quickly, but this sat in some post office for a while...)

I'd just gotten back from an unsatisfying (ONLY shave-wise - LA water wasn't soaking into my brush the way Quabbin water does AND my St. James shave stick wasn't as nice as my usual creams) trip to LA so I was looking for some good shaving.

I figured I'd start with the Summa in my Merkur HD (having reluctantly concluded that while the Gillette Adjustable looks cooler, the HD shaves me better) and some Taylor's Avocado and...

WOW. A spectacular BBS with minimal nicking. I'm gonna open a can of worms here, but what's the term for faceturbation when SWMBO does it?!

I gave it a shot this morning with Musgo, and got an even better shave. Incredible!

Now for the unfairness part... Rene is sold out of Summas! Who knows where to get these magnificent beasts?

And thanks, Rene! My face thanks you! SWMBO thanks you! (Actually, she thinks I'm obsessed and that you're my enabler, but what the hey)

i've got quite a few of them!

They are pretty decent blades, but have you tried the SHARP v2 yet?

The Summa is a very decent blade. Now, if I did not have 400 blades sitting around, I'd probably order some.
