As we slide into the winter in most parts of the US, what are you favorite scents ? Wood stoves belching out smoke, the sweet smell of a ripe persimmon, pumpking pie baking ?

I have always been partial to fireplace smoke when I am outside.
Fireplace. Even in southern California, we fire up the fireplace as much as we can.

Fireplace, no doubt!
Have a roaring fire going right now!

Definately smoke from a fireplace, or bonfire. Another is burning leaves which now is illegal in most areas. Oh, one more; walking in from the cold to my home or someone elses and the smell of a hot meal cooking or home made bread in the oven.

fireplace and the air which is so typicall for fall ... don't know how to describe it in english (and as describing it in Slovak would not help many of you I just stick with the 'typical fall air')![]()

Some of my favorite aromas on the cool, crisp days of Fall are:
- Pork barbecuing over a hickory wood fire
- Freshly brewed coffee
- The faint smell of freshly fallen leaves
- Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey
- Burning leaves
- Thanksgiving dinner
And, probably, many more. I love Fall, it is my favorite season.

The fireplace, when I am outside the house... it is like an instant homey and welcoming feeling... but I also like to put some apple cider in a pan and heat it up on the stove. I put cinnamon sticks and cloves in it and let it simmer for a few hours. Some people have actually believed I was making a homemade apple pie that day... This is my favorite season too and I think it has alot to do with the smells of fall.

I love the smell of a fireplace when you throw a few giant pinecones in the fire.
Right now I'm digging the Chai Tea soap from Mamabear sue, it smells like chai cookies!
