    Default Just scored an oldie.

Ok so I just got from my mother, my dad's old Gillette DE Razor. I think this is the same razor that I first tried to shave with at the age of 4. Anyway my Dad passes away a couple of years ago and I really wanted to find this razor to remember him by. I am not sure but I think it is a Gillette Super Adjustable, however the underside of it is black plastic and the Gillette Super Adjustables I have seen are metal underneath. Anyone know what type of Gillette this is?

Can you post some pictures and any inscriptions, number, letters, serial numbers on the razor?

That's great to be able to have a razor with so much sentimental value. I'm in the process of trying to get my grandfather's razor.

    Default Pics of razor

My camera sucks that I know but here is what I've got. There is not much in terms of dates or anything on the underside of it. But is does say Gillette, Made in the USA, REC U.S, PAT.OFF.

That looks like a Gillette SuperAdjustable long handle. If you open the razor, you should have a letter and a number inside (letter on the left and number on the right). Those two will give you the date.

According to the Gillette code website It should be 1978 (Y), first quarter (1).

My Dad died in 2005 and you don't know how much I would have liked to have had one of his old razors. Always hang on to it.

Yeah Pal, this isn't going anywhere, it is worth quite a bit to me. I'm gonna clean it and maybe use it a couple of times. But I will always have it in my collection.
