Thread: Salter Rose?

    Question Salter Rose?

I've been thinking about trying Salter Rose Shaving Cream. I'm a huge fan of rose scents, has anybody tried this one? How is it in terms of scent and effectiveness?

    Thanks all
    Tim

Very effective. Smells like rose-flavoured industrial waste. I hate it. I actually wonder if I should give Salter another chance and buy their lime cream, for instance.

It is decent. Typical good Salter shave, medium-intense scent. I reach for this one more and more since the old Taylor formulation went the way of the dinosaur.

I love the wild rose scent personally (just as a heads up though the lime sucks). Salter shaving creams are my personal favorite. The mint, rose and sandalwood are exceptional.

Joel, you forgot to mention the Smoked Bacon (Vetiver) shave cream.

I've recently been trying out Salter and Taylor rose creams thanks to a Scotto Sampler. The Salter definitely gets the nod for performance. However, it's very heavily perfumed. I get a heavy rose combined with a very strong soapy aroma. The combination is just overpowering for me. Taylor's Rose is lighter and more straight forward(not soapy either). Unfortunately, I would say it's performance is a notch below the Salter.
