When did Gillette stop production of the thicker 3 hole blades?
1928 was the last year Gillette made the three hole blades.

Well, I wasn't on the Gillette board in the '20s so I can't be 100% sure. That is just the best answer I could find. I guess I should have qualified my statement with a 'as best as I can determine.' Just trying to give the best info I could find. Of course, they could well have produced enough through the end of '28 to keep distibutors stocked for a few months into '29. All speculation on my part, though.

I actually intend to hone and strop an un-opened three hole blade and use it in an old type Gillette, just to see how said razor performs.I think thicker blades perform as good if not better than wimpy modern d/e blades.Take Gem's for example.![]()
