Default Restoration disaster!

So I finally received this W&B in the mail and I was pretty excited to start a new restoration. I fully inspected the blade for any chips and cracks, besides the slight taper, I was happy with it (so I thought). I finally had some time to do some work on it this morning. I get the sandpaper out and start sanding. It only took a few minutes to notice this!!!

    Ouchie.

How close to the tip? or the heel?

    Or is it dead center?
Thanks... I was chewing on a carrot stick and snorted some out my nose...
It's ~9mm from dead center, towards the heel.

Wow. That's rough. It looked like it had a lot of promise too.

Cut down in it's prime .

Dang. I hope it wasn't expensive.

Had a similar experience myself last month. The crack was invisible until i had sanded on it for 20 minutes or so.

As much as this sucks, at least you didn't break it yourself.

    It was already broken.
