Default Gillette Superspeed vs Gillette FatBoy Adjustable

I only have a Merkur HD and I feel it's time to make an addition to my paltry collection of shaving gear. I've been looking at the Gillette Superspeed and the Gillette FatBoy Adjustable. I want both but I suppose I should only buy one.
Anyone have any comments on which one is better? Bear in mind that I'm fairly new to wet shaving so I don't think I can handle an aggressive razor (that's why I sold my Merkur Futur). Thanks for the help.

They are two different types of razors. The SS (my experience is with the 1940x version, not the later models) is a non-adjustable, gentle shaver. The Fat Boy is adjustable. I get great shaves from both. If I had to have only one, I suppose I would keep the Fat Boy as I already have a gentle razor in the Tech, but then again I don't want to sell it.

I'm not worried about finding one to buy because they're always being sold on eBay, among other places. Besides the fixed and adjustable heads, I'd like to know what differentiates them. If someone out there uses both, I'd appreciate a response.

I use both. Fat boy has a thicker handle the SS has a thinner handle. One is adjustable the other has a fixed head. It is a matter of preference I like the shave I get from both, the fatboy might be a tad heavier. I believe the head design is the same with the exception of the adjustability option of the Fat boy. I did not know how the shave would differ until I shaved with both. Some will say they like the SS over the Fatboy and vice versa. I like them both and get I get great shaves from both. Someone may correct me but to get the same blade exposure on the FatBoy to be the same on the fix head of the SS you have to dial up to somewhere between 4-6 but I am not sure since I have my adjustables set to 3 all the time. I am sure someone with more experience will chime in. I say get both and enjoy them. I do.

I'm going to throw a monkey in your wrench.

I didn't know what a truly great consistent shave was until I got the Gillette Slim Adjustable. It's my go to and I was doing well with a Fat Boy. Now it's nothing but slim for me and great shave after great shave.

Check the reviews here for the Slim as well. Lots of positives.

    Good luck.
