Is Alpha Hydroxy serum good as an after shave lotion?

I have been lurking for a few weeks and I am going to order my first DE soon. I did shave with my Gillette Sensor today using shaving soap on my hands and it made a big difference on the closeness of the shave.

In the past I had been bothered by razor bumps and ingrown hairs. I found that using an Alpha Hydroxy serum worked wonders at keeping these at bay. Should I continue using it when I start with the DE razor.

Also, where can you go to buy and smell the shaving soaps and after shave lotions? Have note been able to find any where local in Richmond, VA.

I used an electric for 99% of my shaving life due to dreadful ingrowings on my neck with a multi blade. I must say that sice using a DE it is greatly avoided but If I shave too close on my neck they can still happen with a DE.
I'd therefore say keep some of your wonder serum to hand but you will only need it now and then.

I don't think there is any one place where you can try all of the great products so read the review section well and take a few punts. You can't lose on the cheaper products and the dearer ones you stand a good chance of liking them anyway as they are good.

I still am in the process of trying to heal and rid the history my neck shows of years of ravage cartridge shaving and razor bumps.

I use an aftershave splash after each shave and then i'll apply one of the products to my neck. Either Bump Patrol or this glycolic acid eventone skin cream. I think you will be fine using your Alpha Hydroxy product.

By the way, which product do you use? Does it happen to help reduce pigment discoloration from shaving history?

I don't see why in would be an problem. If it works for you then keep using it.

I am using Amway Artistry Aplha Hydroxy Serum. Not sure about the pigment discoloration reduction.
