    Default Real shave times

I thought my shave time was ten minutes. Then I put a virtual stopwatch on the computer, http://www.online-stopwatch.com/ , walked into the bathroom, and when I came back out, stopped it. Fifteen minutes! This included everything: getting out all supplies, and then putting it all away, and cleaning up completely. So what is your actual time?

Mine is about the same. I took about 10 minutes when I used a cartridge.

I don't know what my actual shave time is. I do know that I can shower, get a relaxed three pass shave, clean up after the shave, and get dressed in 40-45 minutes.

    Still abouot 10 minutes...

At first I think it was twice that, but with practice, I was able to get it down to 10 minutes. Heck - it might be less now that I'm lathering right in my soap mug.

Yesterday, I was in a hurry so I decided to time my shave. I stepped into the bathroom at 7:27. By 7:35, I had an acceptable single pass shave and all my post-shave ops were done. I used a Super Speed w/a Feather, Godrej Menthol Mist cream (face lather) with a cold water wash and a splash of Superhazel. Finished with a bit of Nivea ASB. It looked fine during the day, but I was getting a little bristly by evening.

well lets hit the other side of the spectrum... 45 minutes from time i throw my brush to soak and heat up in my cheap target water heating bowl to having all my supplies put up and walking out of the bathroom.

but that is a 4-5 pass straight shave with a couple of warm towel soaks thrown in. would probably be a lot faster if i shaved in the morning and needed to finish in a timely manner.

If I have time in the morning I tend to stretch it out a bit. I can shower, shave, clean up and be dressed in 30 minutes. That is a timed 30 minutes. If I have time I can also take 20-30 minutes on just the shave. So, my shaving time may vary

I average about 30 minutes for a complete shave. Strangely, less for a straight shave. Please check my sig Yar I like to draw things out if I'm enjoying it

I don't pay attention to how long the shave takes, and this is maybe because I tend to shave in the evening, after work, instead of in the morning before work. Or, you could say that since shaving tends to be an activity that takes place in the present (maybe this is one reason we enjoy it), it is timeless.

I wish my shave were good enough so that an evening shave would be "workable" the next day. Sadly, not the case. Erudolph makes a good point, and with eloquence. Our forum is replete with thinkers, not just shavers.
