    Default One more find!

Found this at the antique store. It has ERN on the blade. It is fairly heavy compared to my other straights. Cleaned it up a little and honed it and gave it a shave. Was really pretty good, actually smooth. Any info on this straight would be appreciated.

Ern was a Solingen company, based out of the Wald suburb. Wald was incorporated into Solingen at some time. They made the Crown & Sword line as well as their own. They also made a razor for Craftsman. Exceptionally good blades, I love mine.

I have an ERN crown & sword razor. It was a wide blade originally, maybe 7/8 or so, but it had serious hone wear and was steeply tapered from heel to tip.
I didn't hold much hope that I would get a usable razor out of it, but I carefully ground it straight (making it into a 5/8) and gave it a new bevel. It's now one of my favourites.
The steel seems to be exceptionally good on these razors if my example is anything to go by.
