Smile Hello Boys :) (and girls!)

Just a quick hello to the people of this forum
My boyfriend recently discovered this site and became very excited to start his own routine with the many classic razors and accessories. He starting telling me all about it and my interest was originally only in the creams and soaps, just to make my shaving experience a little more fun. I'm the type of girl who requires very little upkeep in my shaving as I have super fine, super light hair with a slow re-growth rate. So the most important thing for me was a great smelling product. That was, of course, until Josh showed me the Lady Gillette. I LOVE the look of it and am so excited to have something that could further improve my results. I currently use the crappy razors you just throw away and nothing but the soap I'm already using in my shower. Although these manage a pretty decent job because of my hair type I'm excited to try this new system. I'm hoping for even better results! (Although I must admit, it was the look of the razor and the great potential smells that drew me in)
My only question at this point is whether any females (or those of you with wives and girlfriends) could tell me about their experience with the Lady Gillette? Does it really make a big difference compared to your standard cheap razor?

Thanks everyone! Seems like a really great site here

Welcome to B&B. There are a few ladies on the board that might speak up here. My wife has been using a DE for almost two years now and swears she will never go back to the "plastic crap" as yu referred to. She now has seven of her own razors and two brushes. (Helps my RAD). She likes a few different soaps, some of which she gets from Mama Bear.
She says the shave lasts another 1-1/2 weeks +. She has slow growth light hair as you do.
I'd say your going to love it...Enjoy!!!

    Thanks for the reply!
It's good to hear that the shave lasts even longer. Typically, I only need to shave every 5-6 days as it is. So if I can further improve that I will be quite excited!

I was just on their website a few hours ago looking at soaps for her. Which ones does your wife like?

Welcome Missy. It's so good to have another classy lady amongst us. My wife and daughter both have Lady Gillettes and love them. They also love the warm lather and scents of my Taylor of Old Bond Street Lavender, Rose, and Avocado creams. Both say they wouldn't go back to disposables and goo. Anyway, welcome aboard.

While I haven't convinced my girlfriend to go a whole shave with a DE, she grabbed my razor after I finished shaving last week with a "what's so great about it" comment. Scooped a little lather from my brush, bent over for a few quick swipes at the shin and came back up with a "...wow."

Needless to say she was impressed and said it was closer than any cheap razor she'd used. Still working on getting her to commit to the process, glad to hear you're enjoying the lifestyle. Welcome to B&B!

Welcome to B&B. I don't use a DE, so no advice here; just wanted to say hello.

Welcome, the lady gillette is a great shaver.

I would recommend loading one up with a sharp blade.

As for soaps and creams try buying samples that way you can find out what you like.

You may also want to pick up a shaving brush to build some lather.

Here is a link to some lady gillettes that are for sale on BST.

Welcome. i am glad to see another lady come aboard. Now for a social experiment. Do AD's effect the ladies differently than us guys?

My wife is just turning to the badger side. She has only had one DE shave thus far. She stated she did not have any of the razor burn that she normally had. From that moment on, she had me looking for a cheap Lady Gillette for her. I just got her the blue one. It wasn't much to look at, but it is in mint condition as of last night. I am about ready to turn her loose with it.

Keep us posted. I am very interested in your opinions because I am trying very hard to get her the best possible.

Good question! We're both just getting into DE shaving so it will be interesting to see how badly the bug hits us both. I don't think she'll be hit by RAD unless there are more pink and starkly razors out there, or she decides to get a whole set of Ladies and rotate them. She probably wont be too bad with the brushes either, but perhaps once she experiences one that will change. A boar one for exfoliateing, a silvertip for a soft luxurious feel, etc. It really could go either way! Creams and soaps will certainly be the worse, I sent the the URL to the Mamma Bear website and she was all over it.
