Default Discussion Thread for L'Occitane CADE ASB

Here's a link to my review.

    Feel free to discuss, gents.

I like this product more than the 85% reflects, sometimes it's hard to accurately descibe something numerically. But I wouldn't give up the review system here for the world.

I really like it. To give it a more fair numerical score, you might change the cooling sensation number to n/a. It really isn't applicable, since this doesn't have menthol and was never designed to be cooling.

Like you say, pretty heavy. But good for when you want a lot of moisturization.

And that scent is great. Unless you have a girlfriend who thinks it smells exactly like the Outdoor fresh or whatever version of Raid ant spray.

Love the scent. Sadly it causes redness and burn around my mouth, so form me it's off limits.

I agree...its good stuff. Picked up a sample of the regular ASB when I was there on Saturday and like this one alot as well. Same qualities...different scent. It's a bit pricey...but just a dab will do. Tube should last a long time.

I also have the L'Occitan ASB - the other fragrance, but very similar to the CADE. There is a little more of a cooling sensation. I do find one in the CADE as well, it's not like a menthol cold, but just a gentle breeze. IMO the L'Occitan isn't quite as good as the CADE but it smells a little better and it's more female friendly than the CADE, IMO. But it's just slightly less effective.

Older thread, but thought I'd jump in instead of starting a new one. I tried the Cade ASB last night and really liked it. My routine is Rinse > Alum > Witch Hazel > ASB or splash. I had been having a bit of burning with the Nivea ASB and last night tried a sample of Cade that I had. Felt great, nicely moisturizing and scent was great.

That being said, I can't imagine using it without using alum > witch hazel first.

Turns out it wasn't the ASB but the horrendeous SC that caused the burn. CAde soap and balm works like a charm. incredible scent.

I don't know what it is, I can't get that disasterous cream to work either but their soap and aftershaves are great.

Thinking about getting some to use as an all over face moisturiser. I have not yet tried it yet, but use the Cade soap and love the eau de cologne.

What do you guys rekon. If they changed the name from ASB to moisturiser would it pass?

I like it. I bought some from a l'Occitane shop in Paris in October. I looked at a few shaving items but this was the only one my wife liked the smell of (probably the most important factor). It's soothing. I have dry skin and have found it perfect for Winter. I don't think it'll last until Summer....

I like this stuff a lot. To me, the scent is very unique and complex. Although I haven't tried any of the really high end stuff like T&H, TOBS, etc...

I've got the shaving cream too, and like everyone else, am very disappointed with it. Will have to give the soap a try. What's the cologne like?

I'm bumping this thread since I just went to the Occitane store - Zanzibarstar, the L‘Occitane colognes are all great. I'm using Eau de L'Occitan (http://fr1.loccitane.com/FO/Catalog/...prod=20ET100OC) which is a great mixture of dark and peppery scents, in my eyes perfect for both winter and summer. Very recommendable.

I tried another one (frankly I don't remember which one, but I'll look it up) and it had me stunned - it literally smells like a pinewood, but not the pinewood toilet spray we all know. There's wood and herb and leather and whatnot in it, try it if you get the chance.
