Default Just had an experience with BIC sensitive and water.

I took my BIC sensitive into the shower with me, spread on some noxzema cream, and went at it.

Best shave in my entire life, this is the first time i ever used a single bladed disposable razor and i am impressed, if i already didnt have 6 DE razors i would stick with the BIC sensitives for the rest of my life.

BBS BBS BSS with a disposable!!!!!

Yes, they are great shavers for the most part. I shaved with disposable bics in the shower with no shave cream and managed BBS quite regularly. What prompted me to change was the irritation I incurred at the base of my neck AND the fact that although inexpensive initially, buying packages of disposable bics over the long haul is still more expensive than DE shaving. This is all assuming that you can resist all the acquisition disorders ;)

You can buy these for about 20 cents per razor. If you get 2-3 shaves out of one, that is cheaper than most razor blades. The environmental aspect would turn most people away from them.

First, congrats on the great shave.

Keep it up for a week or two - even with using a new razor each time - and see if you have the same experience. Then you'll know, one way or the other . . .

(Trumpet players go through this with a new mouthpiece. The first day you sound great! Better than you ever have. By the end of 2-4 weeks you sound like you always did - or worse. Golfers go though this with new putters. I'm sure other hobbies have the same phenomenon.)

Yes, the less plastic we create, the better.

They are great though. I used them while starting to read this forum and making the transition to DE's and waiting for mine to arrive. I keep a few on hand in my travel bag.

I could never get a good shave with those, and always had tons of razor burn when I did foolishly attempt to use one.

I do like BIC DE blades tho . . . very smooth.

I only bought a pack of 6 for travel, and i tried one just for the hell of it, i still get great shaves from my DE which are more enjoyable too.
I think this will also be my "have to be out the door in 15 minutes" razor

Gives me a shave on par with a rusty tin can lid. I have to toss one about midway through one pass and grab another as they dull like the dickens on my beard.

I tried a Bic disposable onceAbsolute rubbish and a classic case of you get what you pay for.I would rather go broke and use a Fusion.

The BIC Sensitive Disposable is a great shaver. Using Soap and EVOO I get BBS shaves. Was so impressed with them that I even considered only using them. However, they just don't have the "character" feel of a DE. For example, used my Gillette SS this morning and realized how much I miss using it. Still the BICs are part of my rotation.

    POSITIVES:
Cheap, you can get them some places for 20 cents each.

Very easy to go ATG in an upward motion as compared to a DE.

I get 3 to 4 shaves out of them and then throw them away. (I put them in the recycle container on trash day).

    NEGATIVES:

Have a tendency to shave fast with them. Not Good

Seem to press down hard while shaving with them thinking I'm getting a closer shave. Not Good

If I use a "goo in a can" my razor burn and redness return.
