Thread: Super Iridiums

  1. #1

    Default Super Iridiums

These are available through an english retailer that has been banned from the boards. They are 31 UK Pounds for 250 blades. I got these last week from Paul. These are awesome blades that are not available anymore but Paul seems to have found a source.

Very interesting. Lets hear more about them.

I would say this is probably the best performing blade I have used other than the old (very old) wilkinson (english made) light brigade blades that I have.

These displaced the Yellow Russian 7'Oclocks for me. Same sharpness but seem smoother.

Can you provide some hints as to how to contact this vendor?

You might want to check out the shopping sections of other shaving forums. If the only thing you are doing is searching B&B you aren't going to find much, if anything.

check the shopping section for the other shaving forum SMF and you will find a post on how to get the super iridiums. There was a limited quantity and the retailer is closed for a week so dont know if he is sold out. He also had the italian bolzano blades

Thanks. You are correct. Despite the closure the vendor is still accepting orders for the Iridiums.

Are Iridiums similar to the Astras?

According to one of Squires reviews on SMF, they are very close (in terms of construction and grind) to the Gillette yellows, and come from the same factory.

Hi Sucuri.... I have a couple questions about these Iridium blades. 1) I see in a later thread that you're selling them. Is this because you didn't like them and, if you don't like them, can you say why? 2) Do they have the big glue spots on them, like Astras and 7 O'Clocks? Thanks for any info...

    Hiya,

I found these blades to be excellent, and was lucky enough to purchase the last 60 Paul had in stock a while ago. He recently made them available again after 5-6 months of no one having em for sale. Yeah, more than a few people were upset that no vendors could get these anymore. Heh, I'd been rationing mine in the meantime.

I felt the Iridium blades to be similar to the Gillette SharpEdge (yellow).......as sharp and yet as forgiving. Longevity is good as well. Very much worth trying one of these if you can navigate to the site.

    Hope that helps,
    Martin
I can quit at any time that I decide to. Unfortunately, I have NO control over when (if ever) that decision might occur.

Based on this thread I just ordered some, along with the Bolzanos. I had been looking for the Bolzanos for some time. I cant wait to give them both a try.

I like the blades a lot...the glue spots bother me little not too much. I have some extra that ideally I am trying to trade for the blade I like best (light brigade wilkinsons)

the bolzanos are good but not as good as the iridiums. Also they are not made in italy but in a german plant

Its an Italian thing for me...while I am far from Italian, I am an Italophile and have been looking for these blades to fill out an all Italian shave.
