First shave...

no cuts! however, the razor seemed to stall on my face and "jump" when i was trying to make a pass. seemed more liked it was scraping than cutting.

i tried to keep a shallow angle, but i suppose it takes quite a bit of practice. for what it's worth, it is a extra hollow ground razor and I had it professionally honed.

You need a wetter, slicker lather.

What soap/cream are you using?

the skipping might be due to pressure and/or angle as well.

Lots of folks add a few drops of glycerin to their soaps to give them a bit of extra slide, or at least that's how I understand it.
