To properly disinfect after shaving...

From what I understand witch hazel is an antiseptic, whether or not it contains alcohol. You might want to consider an alum block -- cheap and kills bacteria so effectively you can use it as an underarm deodorant. I've been doing this for a month or so and there is no funk evn 24 hours later.
 
Witch hazel comes in both alchol and non-alcoholic varieties. I prefer the alcohol type as it will clean out my pores after shaving, ridding me of any nasty bacteria. There are several varieties and several levels of alcohol content. Under reviews->aftershave, you can find several types if you search the category for witch hazel.

In regards to the alum block, it defintely works well to close up your pores and stop any nicks however I found that it turned any rough spots I had incurred red for the remainder of the day. YMMV though.
