    Default pipe smokers

    Anyone out there? I am thinking about getting started but am not sure exactly what I do to start. I read somewhere that it is not good to smoke more than one kind of tobacco through one pipe. If that is the case I probably would not want to start because I would want to try more than one and not spend 600 dolars on pipes. What is the truth to this matter?

    Pipe tobacco falls into two broad categories
    ->Virginia leaf
    ->Latakia based blends
    ->Flavored (cased and/or topped)

    That totals two, since you should avoid the last category completely.

    It's a good idea to reserve a different pipe for Virginia and Latakia blends, so you can get by perfectly, and explore virtually the entire world of tobacco, with only two pipes.

    Virginias range from mildly to very sweet, and can be some of the most satisfying and complex smokes. They age particularly well. Latakia blends are dry, smoky, and marvelous.

    It's a hobby that can keep you busy.
