Going rate of a Tuckaway

What is the going rate for a Gillette Tuckaway? I was down state this past weekend and found one in a shop marked at $40. As far as I remember, it was in good shape. I will be passing through the town this coming weekend and wondering if I should stop and scoop it up.

I would try to talk them down, but that is about right. Silver or gold?

silver. I would definently go for a lower price. My rule is, if its over $15, haggle. 99% of the time, I get a lower price.

The more I look at the tuckaways, the more I like them. I am going antiquing this weekend to further my RAD. My goal is open combs.

It all depends on condition and how complete the set is. I have seen some some nice sets go for $90 and up. The lesser condition go for less obviously.

I know the set is complete. I don't remember it 100% (i went to about 8 shops that day and bought 6 razors and passed on a few so I get a little fuzzy) but I know it was in good enough condition to consider buying it.

If I pick it up, I will post some pics up. I just wanted to gauge the value so I knew what not to pay. I think if they stick to the price I will walk.

Most of the Tuckaways in very good condition on eBay are going for anywhere between $25 and $45 these days. I got mine for $27 with shipping.
