Default Taylor's Lavender or AOS Lavender?

Read the reviews on both, but just wondering what others thought. Have only used Taylor's Rose so far and I love it, but I want to give the lavender a try. Any differences between the creams that might make one more favorable than the other?

I can't speak for the Taylor's but the AOS has a beautiful lavender scent.

I'd suggest you get the AOS lavender and then get some of Taylor's cologne scent offerings (Mr. Taylors, St. James, Eton College, Shave Shop).

Both quite nice, and both shave great. The AOS has a mintier thing going on, while the Taylor is a softer lavender scent. Both are straight ahead lavender-EO scents.

I have both and love them both, it's hard to decide which I like better.
The only big difference is that the AOS is not purple while the Taylor's is.

May I strongly recommend D.R. Harris instead?

D.R. Harris Lavender kicks AOS #&$@, in both quality of shave and fragrance, IMHO! I like the D.R. Harris even better than the Castle-Forbes Lavender, which is a very strongly fragranced lavender [but overpriced and overrated IMHO].

Another lavender you don't want to overlook and is my second favorite is Kiss My Face Lavender which produces one of the best lathers of any cream I've used and is a 'Best Value' in my book.

I haven't yet tried the Taylor's Lavender but I do love their 'original' rose.

    IMHO, YMMV, FWIW, etc!!!

The Taylor's lavender is much improved over their old formula, but I would still give the nod to the AOS version overall. I also agree with Xert in that the Harris offering takes them both to the cleaners.

Mind you, all three products are very high quality, and I enjoy using them all. The AOS offers the added benefit of not containing dye.

IMO, the AOS is a better cream, but getting the water/cream ratio is harder with the AOS, so it's a bit of trade off.

I've only used the AOS, and I love it.

This somewhat one-sided( I only own/use the AOS), but my vote is for the AOS, as I have heard that the Taylor's can turn your brush purple. That may not affect the shave quality of the cream, but.....

I've personally used the D.R. Harris Lavender, which is deeply dyed, and never noticed even the slightest tinting or coloring of any kind in my ShaveMac 23mm which I always use with this cream. YMMV!

    Default Thanks for the info

    Hey everyone,

Appreciate the input that I have received so far. The instnat gratification part of me "forced' me to give the AOS lavender a try as there is a Neiman Marcus right up the street from me so I didn't have to wait for a mail order. BTW, used the AOS yesterday and it works fantastic, definitely love the scent and the quality of the shave.

However, my interest is now picqued regarding the D.R. Harris. I think I am heading up to NYC this weekend, and I am planning on making my first visit to Pasteur Pharmacy to feed my new SCAD. Hopefully they carry the Harris lines at their store so I can check it out.
