I don't know what impresses me more, the collection or that someone offered to buy a $1500 item in less than an hour!

Interesting note(Or maybe not so interesting): Imported from Italy because there is not a lick of English found anywhere on the containers or boxes they came in.
Jonnyfive, nice looking Futur! You know, its hard not to like the look of a Futur. Great score!

This doesn't surprise me at all especially after seeing who sent the PM's. These guys are serious hard core collectors!

    So, who got the set?

    Arrived yesterday:

    MWF in bowl
    Musgo Real
    Erasmic
30 Israeli blades (thank you shaving-shack)

Took the MWF for a spin, and I can see what the fuzz is about...wow!

My first score was a Progress, a col Conk travel brush in a tube and Unscented AOS soap in its wooden bowl. That was almost 11 years ago...I still have the Adjustable, the brush had been grinded to a short loft from use and died in a resto attempt .

I bought another puck of the AOS after the first one got finished. Finished that one before finding B&B, well the rest is legend in my household already.

Sold for $1500.... the buyer was me

Now before you organize torch and pitchfork riots, please let me explain. I was given the exclusive opportunity to purchase this set (because I asked first) for said price of $1500. I had no idea what a reasonable price for this set was and I had no one to consult. I posted the offer, as it was presented to me, on the BST to get an unbiased gauge for the value. Thank you to all of those who made offers and please accept my apologies for this whole fiasco.

Now my plan for these is to in fact digitally scan every single page at 600dpi (really high resolution) so that the content will be preserved for all time. When this project is complete (or in the process), I would like to share the content with all who are interested (and there seems to by quite a lot of you). Now I am debating how to go about this. I am in the hole $1500 and I want to make the content available, but I don't want to be in the hole $1500 in doing so.... I have thought about selling issue reprints for a much lower price ($10-$25), or there is the option of accepting donations for this project. Please voice your opinions.

My opinion is that this wasn't the way to go about finding out if you got a good deal or not. This should have been posted in The Score.

If something is offered up for sale in BST, I think it should have been sold to those that made the offer irrespective of anything else.

Yeah, I agree with Paul. I think you got a few folks' hopes up, but it was all for nothing. A simple post asking "How much would you have paid?" would have gotten you to the same place.

That being said, I have a Blue Dot Fatboy for sale and I am asking $24,000. Any takers?

I have a couple of suggestions: 1) start a new thread to discuss how to deal with scans. 2) In regard to the scans (and scanning is time consuming and a lot of work, i know) offer subscriptions, as one would subscribe to any other limited edition.

I don't know all the ins and outs of copyright law, but I don't think these issues would be in the public domain for several more years. I don't think you could legally sell copies.

I thought of that, but it is always easier to talk money, and much harder to bring it to the table... especially on an amount like this. I have spoken with all who made offers and there are no hard feelings.
