Default Using Proraso as a brushless cream

Has anyone used Proraso cream without a brush and, if so, how well did it work?

I used Omega before I got a brush. I didn't have the same kind of lather. Of course, I didn't know what I was doing back then.

I used it as a brushless cream before I got a brush. It works wonderfully. It leaves the face refreshed and smooth. Very little to no razor drag. Just a great product as a brushless cream. In some ways, I almost think it is MORE protective when used that way, and it certainly has a more intense cooling effect.

Note that I was shaving with a cartridge razor (Sensor Excel) when I was using it brushless.

I find it clogs up my razor more than using it with a brush. Other than that it works well both ways.

Brushless Prorso is my choice when I need a shave in a hurry, it works quite well.

Works but not as well. Plus you have to use quite a bit of cream (ie. new snurdle for each pass). Get a brush!

No but I have tried to use it as a toothpaste, and it didn't work very well for me that way either!

I agree with your comments. I always use it with a brush, but I recently had total knee replacement and while in the hospital, I "went minimal". The lather was a little thin compared to what I am used to, but the shave was amazingly great. I wasn't expecting much as all I was interested in was a quick shave, but each time I was pleasantly surprised. And as you mentioned, I'm not sure I didn't even get a better shave. Go figure.

You would have to use alot compared to if you use a brush. I use about a nickels size and I get 4 passes plus enough for a touch up. Why not just get a brush?

I tried it once. It did alright, but the cream was very well hydrated in my experience, therefore while I was shaving ,the cream clumped all over my razor and was a lil tougher to rinse off. All in all though it did a good job, but i prefer it with a brush.

Thanks for all the input. I do have a brush (and always prefer using one), but I'm looking for something to use when traveling when I may not have time to let the brush dry properly before popping it into my suitcase.

Anyone tried the canned Proraso foam?

I find Proraso clogs my razor when I use it brushless. It's just too good of a brush cream. Wars works pretty good, though, despite being another great cream (maybe it's just easier to dispense a small amount?) I don't use a brush when I touch up my neckline, and the Wars performed quite well today.

I had a friend who on the morning of his eldest daughter's wedding entered the bathroom suffering from a hangover and being unable to find his reading glasses began brushing his teeth with haemorrhiod ointment!
At least the wedding went off OK!

Any cream can be used without a brush but you just go through it faster.
