    That's like the "What brand / weight motor oil is best?" questions that I've seen on engine related message boards. Prepare yourself for numerous opinions on the subject.

    I think of DE blades mainly in 2 variables: Sharpness & Smoothness.
    The trick is finding the right balance between the 2 that works for you.
    Definitely a YMMV type thing.

    sample pack!!!!! find the blade that works with your set up. Red Pack works for me....... Feather is not as forgiving.........ouch!!!!

    I am also waitin to get my GEM 1912's in fromebay winnings!..2 of em 1 in mint n one in so so condition..anyone know price wise what they could go for on BB?

    The Extended Sample Pack is the way to go. If you do two shaves with each blade you can get a pretty good idea of which works for you and how it will hold up for you in about two weeks time. Probably the best 25 bucks or so you'll spend starting out with a DE.

    I would add a pack of Astra to any sample pack. The sample pack is a great idea! I added Astra to my order after I had placed it and went back to reading post they are one of my favorite.
