B.J. Eyre & Cos “Challenge Razor” (Sheffield) – 7/8”; Meat chopper; wedge; blond horn scales. $120.
Comments: This razor shaves through the whiskers like a chain saw through a tree. Seriously, its that big and beefy. That said, I am not an expert at smiling blades, I would rate the edge I put on this at A- or B+. Blade probably has an A edge, and my technique stinks, but I’m going to play it safe. Definitely shave ready. However, its probably my lack of wedge technique that held me back. This razors shaves incredibly well WTG, I cannot begin to describe the feeling; you have to try it. It just chopped through my sideburns like a hot knife through butter. This razor is also incredibly old. 1800s old. In fact, I am amazed that the original housing is still in such great condition. This is a fantastic razor and I can’t say enough about it. But I have to list more, so I need to move on.

Dubl Duck “Bresduck” – 9/16”; hollow; celluloid scales. $60
Comments: Brought this ugly duckling to bring back from death. Original seller deemed it a “parts razor that wouldn’t cut a fart.” Well, he was wrong. Many hours of honing and polishing and this duckling is back! Wouldn’t go so far as to say turned into a swan as it has noticeable pitting and the blade tapers. What they say about ducks is probably true. This one shaved amazingly well. Get your shave ready duck for a fraction of what ebay wants.

Comments: Blade length of 2.5”. Not much more to say, pictures say it all. Moderate to a lot of hone wear.

ERN by Wald-Solingen – 11/16”; hollow; French ivory (faux) scales. $140
Comments: This is the most beautiful razor I have ever laid eyes upon. No idea when it was produced, I am guessing early 20th century. Pristine condition with a beautiful peacock painted on the French ivory. Words are not enough to describe this gorgeous piece of craftsmanship.

Germania Cutlery “Uncle Sam” – 11/16”; hollow; faux ivory in bamboo pattern. $35
Comments: This razor is a little beat up, you should be able to see it in the photos. I was able to bring it back from the brink of the trash bin, and I am glad I did. A fine razor to start with at a great price.

Germania Cutlery “Eagle Razor” – 6/8”; hollow; faux ivory scales. $60
Comments: Yet another example of German cutlery. This razor is a little newer, I would place it around early 20th century. The eagle engraving is gorgeous and the blade is magnificent. Scales and pins, near perfect.

F.v. Beckher, Inc. (Solingen) “Serva Bell” – 11/16”; hollow; celluloid scales. $45
Comments: This is another great example of Solingen craftsmanship. Scales are a little white in places due to the straightening process. Razor and pins are straight and tight.

Wester Bros “Manganese Steel” Anchor Brand – 5/8”; hollow; plastic scales; slightly rounded at the bottom toe. $35 Sold
Comments: Wester Bros make the workhorses of the razor world. They are all great shavers. This one is no different. This is a great price for a newbie razor. The only defect is some ***** managed to sand/grind a bit off the scales; hence the cheaper price. This only affects the aesthetics however.

W. Greaves & Son (Sheffield) – 6/8”; ¼ hollow; French ivory (faux) with metal bolsters. $120 SOLD
Comments: This is a gorgeous razor and has a great heft to it. Unsure of the age as it is in pristine condition. I would guess early 20th or late 19th. Either case, a fantastic razor anyone should want in their rotation. The scales are incredible, if I didn’t know better, I would say they were ivory. They even feel like ivory.
