I really enjoy Masters Bay rum, which is available locally for me. I've read a TON of info. on Captains Choice...have you used Masters? How does it compare? Haven't found any direct comparisons.

Garry's Sample shop has a 1/4oz Master Bay Rum sample for $1. Of course you have to consider $3.50 shipping. I was already planning on getting several other samples from him anyways. I'll get back to you in a few weeks when I've tried them both. Who knows I may not even like Bay Rum. If it turns out that way I'll hit you up to PIF the rest of the Captains Choice sample if you would like.

That'd be great! Of course, I hope you like it. Sally's sells Masters for $9/15 oz I believe...very worth it. I might be wrong, but I believe CC is a product someone of this board developed and is currently developing a soap to go with it.

My current den. Living in apartment temporarily, so can't do much as far as fixtures go. But here's my setup after one month.

Thanks for the offer! I found some Captain's Choice shortly after this message on the never ending PIF thread...Karma!

Intersting bowl. Is that one of those Walmart salsa dishes with scored lines in it?

You are correct sir! Good eye. Just got it this weekend. So far it whipped up very nice batches of lather with almond sized snurdles ofGFT and Windsor. Haven't tried it with a soap yet, but will probably give Cella or Vitos a spin in it sometime this week.

I'm surprised no one has chimed in to "fix" this. Nice setup! Love the Cade, which Semogue is that?

Sorry for seeing this so late. I have not tried masters. Captains is very clean, very well put together and the spices pop without you smelling like you just doused yourself from a spice rack.

3 DE's and 2 straights?...loks like you'll have to add anotgher straight to balance things out=:-)

I see you're a Proraso fan...having new and old. How do the two (green) formulas compare?

Have you gotten together with Luc yet (B&B Mod)? I believe he lives in the same city as you

FWIW you have a charming collection there...one day I'd like to add the Floid Amber to mine

    Best,

I also have a slant that is by the sink I forgot about, so looks like I'll need two more straights for balance

I like the scent of the old green better, smell a bit more old time barber like to me. It was also my first product so I have a bit of a soft spot. I do think that the lather is is bit better out of the new formula though. seems a bit more slippery and even more forgiving that the old. I was actually going to wait till i finished the old green before ordering the new, but I accidentally ordered two reds and I though it was easier to ask the vendor to just switch it instead of messing with a refund. Needless to say once it arrived I could not wait to give it a try.

I have not met Luc yet, but it seems there are quite a few Montrealers ( though I am a recent transplant) on the forum. Perhaps a B&B get together will be in the future at some point?

Glad you like the collection, defiantly pick up floid when you have a chance. It is my favorite and a local store carries it!

Rightfully so! I have that same brush and absolutely love it. Your handle looks a bit darker and the hairs a bit lighter but it could be the lighting.

How do you like the Wilkinson Sword "Stickie"? (if that's what the bottom razor is...")

It is indeed the Sticky. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm still getting used to it (only had it ~2 weeks) and finding what blade I enjoy most, but it's is very comfortable to hold.
