I can't be there, but I'm voting for a meet up at the local cheese shop. It's only fitting. Cory will be in his sable hat and Tom will be, uh, in his, uh, canoe.

It's a shame the big red dog dish isn't there anymore.

Huh... only a seven hour drive from my house. I'll have to talk it over with the missus. We're going to a birthday party the night before and both have to work the day after so I don't have a hot clue if we'd be able to make it, but I'll see what we can come up with.

    Edit: Come to Fargo instead.

14 hours in the car? No problem. My wife and I once up and left for Chicago because we were hungry for pizza. (True story...of course, in the spirit of full disclosure, we were already in Milwaukee...)

Hilariously, Chicago is 14 hours from my house...

I do have the luck of having both North Dakota and Minnesota within about two hours of my place, so I could totally meet a few of you guys there. The only bad luck is that Minneapolis (and surrounding area) is pretty far to go at the end of a weekend. Hrrrrmm... It's not the getting back that worries me, it's the getting down there.

whoot... I'm in Saint Paul. As luck would have it, I'm dropping the wife off to work across from the mall on Sunday... about ten minutes before noon. I'd probably be nuts to not show up.

Johnny Rocket's and now I'm hungry. Thanks, Dennis!

Edit: This spot works for me...now there might be a shred of credibility when I tell the wife that we're not eating at Hooters.

Yeah, that's it. I just looked it up while you were posting your reply. So there we are, Johnny Rockets at noon on Sunday.

So what kind of stuff are we going to buy while we are there?

Cory...name your poison for pizza, and I'll bring a frozen one for you...Uno? Due? Malnati's? Name it, and I'll bring one.

    Noon sounds good...very good.

I'll be wearing "canoe" ...hahahahhahhah...need anything from the Cheese Castle on the way up?

Some things up in the air for me right now...more later...Friday will nail it down as to when/how long, etc...POINT OF CONTACT...Lynchie...can you PM with local number AND address with new house?

Years ago, when Mr. Gillette was a burly construction worker, he burned down a house that was all framed..."Get a fire going down here, it's cold!" said one of the bricklayers in the basement. We put scraps in a big metal bucket and it, uh...got MUCH MUCH warmer.

Could I help out at all on your new house?

    Thanks!

Tom, you serious about the pie? If so, I have no clue and will trust your judgement.

You drove from TC to Chicago for pizza once...where did you go? Pizza Hut? I think not? Papa John's? Dominos? Probably not. Where did you go. If you liked what you had, I'll grab one.

A word about Dennis (Old Saw)...

I just wanted to share a quick story about Dennis...and an earlier meetup we had in the back woods of Michigan's wild Upper Peninsula. We had no specific time frame set, but one day Dennis and the lovely Mrs. just appeared, at a time that was completely convenient. We loaded them in a boat and took them up the river to our campsite, and then hiked back to cars/civilization where we drove several miles to a "Fresh Lake Superior Whitefish" restaurant.

We finished the meal, and it was then that we discovered that the place didn't take Plastic! Not a problem...we picked up the tab, but Dennis was visbily upset about this news. We went about 1/2 a mile into this little town, where SWMBO and I were picking up some groceries. Suddenly Dennis appeared with us, a big smile on his face, grinning...handing over some hard-found cash from a virtually hidden ATM.

I say this to let you know that Dennis is "on" to where the cash is. So don't worry-- he can cover the costs of our meal at Johnny Rockets! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Nope...the lesson to take out of this? Here were these people we'd never met, trying to find us in the wilderness, and SWMBO was asking me "what if these people are nuts or something? You don't know anything about them!" But we had a good day, a very fun time, and we met someone who went out of his way to "handle" things before 3 minutes went by.

That's the good part of B&B.

Hopefully Burnwood won't come along and RUIN this!
