Default Ah, the joys of a rotation

Now that I have a small rotation going (3 soaps, a cream, and 3 after shaves), I've discovered that it really makes the whole thing more fun. Yesterday (Sunday), I was actually looking forward to shaving so I could try out something new, which is amazing since I used to avoid shaving on Sunday to give my face a break.

Of course, part of this can be attributed to the fact that now that I'm not using the multi-blade razors and the crappy shave creams, shaving is no longer torture, but I'd still probably take a lot more days off if not for the fun of trying different things in different combinations. I know I'm preaching to the choir on this one, but even though I've been doing this wetshaving thing for a little while now, it really just hit me that I'm really hooked. Resistance is futile.

It's also nice to realize that having a rotation doesn't have to be super expensive. Five of the seven products I have retail for about $10 or under, before tax and shipping (Valobra shaving stick, Specik shaving stick, Proraso shaving cream, SCS lavender after shave milk, Aqua Velva). AD can indeed be enabled without breaking the bank.

But now you need a dozen razors or more and a few brushes so you can really enjoy rotation.

Wait till you lay in bed at nite trying to decide the next mornings shave set-up...
    1. Bowl lather or face lather?
    2. Creams or soaps?
    3. Which flavor of 10 creams or 9 soaps?
    4. Which razor...Merkur or Gillette? Mild or aggressive? Adjustable or fixed? Open comb or closed?
    5. Which blade?
    6. Pre-shave oil or not?
    7. Which AS lotion out of 12? or none?
    8. Which AS splash out of 5?

Decisions...Decisions....It's enough to make your head spin.

Yeah...you know you're hooked when shaving goes from a chore to something you think about during the day!

I just milled a soap from SCS to fit into one of my pyrex bowls...looks like I've got something new for the rotation!
