    Default My First Fragrance

Other than the few bottles I've bought for my mother over the years, this is the first fragrance ive ever bought for myself.

i had an epiphany with the Blenheim Bouquet, realizing the magic, art and history behind it... and can liken it's affect on mood is similar to what your favorite song coming on the radio unexpectedly feels like.
    what a treat!

i do need to say that i would be much less educated if the very fine fellow at the Apothecary in Las Vegas wasn't so generous. we had such a fun conversation (regarding my very nosy questions about the ingredient lists of shaving soap) that he said he would toss in a gift, "no, as a matter of fact TWO gifts for you!" and two fragrance library's were included

and more importantly a thank you to B&B is in order, in which case i never even would have heard of Penhaligon's!

...and let me guess- Your first car was a Porsche?

Excellent choice, and good to hear about your "epiphany"! I know exactly what you mean. Come on over to Basenotes if you want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes...

    I agree. Classy packaging indeed!

Unfortunately though, they've recently changed the packaging of one of my favorite scents. Not only that, but it was my favorite fragrance packaging too.

Douro. I loved the stripes. I do not favor the new style.

    and now...

I'm even working on a Douro painting! ...I just need to paint the letters.

[I just "moved" the picture of it to the Penhaligons thread]

I liked it even more before they made it Douro, when it was Lords.

I am amaze of how well-versed these people are in terms of scrutinizing fragrance. I've been thinking I might as well be learning the way it is.Well, I think I am gradually on my way of learning it.

That's a shame about the change in packaging. I guess that makes your painting even more impressive!

Cheers to the OP for starting off so well. Most of us have to work ourselves up to being Penhaligon's classy.
