Default Vison vs Futur or maybe a 12c

Here is my question- Presently I have a Vison - shaves very nice and very smooth- but recent never damage is causing me to have a bit of the shakes and thus the Vision is getting dangerous at times- Is the Futur or the 12 c my next best way to go?...... really looking for the bbs result

I would think the 12C would be a better choice. The Futur can be very aggressive as well. In your place though I would look at a Gillette Superspeed, probably a '50s model. Not all that aggressive, capable of a great shave, and the silo doors makes loading easier.

I had a Futur for about a year and I feel that MikeLip has given you some good advice. My 2c.

I have both a Vision and a Futur (it's hard to say that without sounding like I'm running for office...). I also recently got hold of a pair of vintage Gillettes, a late-1940s Aristocrat and early-1970s Super Adjustable.

Here's a quick snapshot to compare size:

Vision, Futur, '72 Super Adjustable, late-40s Aristocrat.

While the Futur is noticeably smaller and lighter than the Vision, I do not regard the Futur as either small or light, especially compared to the two Gillettes, both of which were considered "man-sized" razors in the day. The Vision's Wotan-class dimensions are almost unique in the world of DE razors.

Given the issues you've mentioned, I would bypass the Futur (much as I like it) and go straight for an older Gillette. Since it sounds like you lean toward adjustables, you can find examples like my Super Adjustable, or earlier versions thereof (the Slim, or the fabled-and-now-apparently-hot Fat Boy), and get an awfully good shave with a much-lighter but extremely well-made razor. Depending on the blade, a BBS experience is quite possible.

Beauty is a shave your significant other can aquaplane upon.

As already mentioned, if you are looking for an adjustable, the Slim is a very good choice. For a non adjustable, the Merkur 11C, which is open comb, will definitely give you BBS and is the lightest razor that has been mentioned so far. Of course, it depends on which blade you choose. Astra's are a very good choice, very smooth.
Where do we go from here?

Do you specifically want an open comb? If not, what about a 38C or a 38C?

The gentleman did not state open comb or not.I mentioned the 11C because of the weight factor. It provides a excellent quality shave for its size and weight. In my opinion it does provide a closer shave than a straight bar
Where do we go from here?

I am looking for a closer shave- similiar to the Vision, but with less weight- the shaking on my hands can not take the heavier Vision. I mentioned the 12c for its reviews as a very close shaver and weight (lighter than the Vision, but heavier than other razors).

Thank you for the other input as well.....
