I have a paddle strop en route so I figured I'd offer these kits. They are 3"x10" bench strops. One bench strop has 0.25 diamond paste on one side and 0.5 chromium oxide on the other side. The other bench strop has red latigo leather one one side and a free side on which you'd glue the strip of leather that I include. That strip is for pastes.
As you can see, I applied too much paste. The green paste still leaves a residue on the blade. That'll stop with use.
Initially, I recklessly put too much glue in the middle of the strop when I glued the latigo onto the wood. It caused a slight bulge so the strop wasn't completely flat. I managed to remove the latigo from the wood and I sanded the wood and the backside of the strop. The strop is perfectly usable; you just have to do a better job gluing it than I did.
I bought them for about $48 shipped; the pastes were extra. I'd like $21 shipped CONUS. Thanks.
SOLD.
