Very strange that blades would fetch that much, no matter how rare they are. But, then again, I'm no blade expert.
I do know that i've dealt with Paul before, a couple of years ago. I bought 2 or 3 razors from him and he was a great guy to deal with. All of the razors that i bought from him were in excellent shape and just as described on his website.

He does have some nice stuff in his collection, like the "195 Bottom-Dial" asking $995. Or those bizarre looking "Yale" razors ... never even knew something like that existed.
It all makes sense once you dig up who is bidding these up so high...

Did he then block you? He blocked me from bidding in his auctions after I asked him a question once... a jerk move for sure. He probably doesn't want bidders that are too informed.
I would think that he's either trying to rip some newbie off, after all, it's 50 years old! or because it belonged to Dear Old Uncle, it's worth a Gee. PASS, FRIEND!
