    Default 2nd B-B-Brush opinions needed

Wanted to pick the brains for options on a Best badger brush thats small/stubby in loft, something compact thats great on soaps and firm on the face .
Currently use a Kent Pure badger BK2, so looking at another end of that spectrum. I'm not going to spend a fortune on it and would appreciate any advice

    Cheers, Andy

    Rooney 3/1 from VintagebladesLLC.com

Extremely dense and full, with a lot of backbone. I consider these to be soap only. Vintage has Rooney make these with a loft that is 5mm shorter than normal, so they have significant additional stiffness not present in the regular Rooney offerings.

For what it's worth, my Edwin Jagger Best Badger does excellent with both soaps and creams.

I'm looking for a second brush as well (currently using a Tweezerman), and I was thinking of getting this one. It seems to get pretty good reviews all around.

I ordered a custom shavemac last week and then turned around and bought the Edwin Jagger Best Badger as a second/travel brush.

Yeah that is the brush I desperately want. I'll probably get it for myself as a b-day present in a few months.

Why not include the EJ in the list of possible brushes?

I have a Rooney Heritage stubby 2 that I got from Vintage Blades for around $155 plus shipping. I have found that is is fantastic in any way that I choose to use it; soaps or creams, face-lathering or bowl lathering. They are incredibly dense with very soft tips that give a wonderful message on your face. Sometime I spend extra time working the brush into my face because I enjoy the sensation so much. I don't know if you want to spend that much, but it's a great brush. I have never owned a standard Rooney super, so I cant compare, but needless to say, I am happy that I went heritage.

I just got a Rooney 3/1 in super through BST and all the above apply. Awsome brush and much more backbone than my Simpsons Special in BB.

Do you know how the handle compares to the Tweezerman? I'm looking for one with a larger handle, but not too large.

Nevermind I just searched and found out for myself:
    Tweezerman: 44.5mm
    Rooney 3/1: 50
    EJ Medium BBB: 46
    EJ Large BBB: 51

The Rooney's looking like it'll be a good choice, but I use mostly creams. Would the EJ work better with creams?

Thanks for the replies all . I hadnt really looked at the rooneys before thinking they would just be expensive but the 1/1 i think is only about $40 here in the uk and EJ of a similar type is less than £25

Looking around reviews and comments it seems that higher density and low loft may be what i need for the second brush .

Current vote is going the way of the rooney but the bank ccount may decide otherwise
