    Default Shaving demo

I was very surprised where this shaving demo headed. For those interested in DE shaving, the demonstration of the cartridge razor is hard to take.

Already seen that one, but it still makes me smile.

That boy isn't old enough to shave or drink!

    Interesting video.

I'm particularly interested in why he suggests only shave oil for the second pass. My guess is that its to see where you are shaving???

The whole point of the cream is the buffer it provides

A lot of people use an oil pass for the final pass or for buffing, as it can provide a closer shave without burn.

Hey I shaved occasionally when I was 14. I was hoping if I did it more maybe the hair would grow more. It didn't work that great. Don't knock the kid for trying!

I love the boldly lettered message "use pressure to avoid cuts." Cartridge or not, I've never applied additional pressure to the blade beyond whatever was necessary to hold it on my face. When I first started learning (with a cart btw) whenever I did use excess pressure, there would be blood.

Pressure is putting it mildly. The kid looks like he's trying to whittle out a piece of wood with a dull knife! He's got the extra fat handle to give extra grip for the task.

Even with a cartridge blade, if he slips sideways just the slightest bit, they'll be calling the paramedics. Even without slipping, a bad pass from the neck to the face will cause some troubles.

While there are a few things that he got right, I think that video should be taken off youtube. I agree of course with the fact that preparation is important, that a badger brush is helpful, and that shaving with the grain is exactly that. However, what he advocates, I am certain, will not work for many people (me included). Many of the other tips are highly YMMV, which he never states.

BTW, he should get someone with a real course beard and than show that off. I didn't see a hair on that kid's face even before he shaved.
    Shave to have fun.

I've seen that one as well. I'd rip my face off if I tried to do everything he suggested.

Really good video and cool ending!.I wonder if the pre shaving oil makes a huge difference.Ive been thinking to use pure olive oil as pre shave oil but Im scared of damaging the brush. It is really worthy to try it?
