I shave because it is a hallmark of civilization. Beards are for the undevelopped.

    Default Why do I shave

It used to be because it was a simple chore that had to be done to make me look presentable. But since starting wetshaving, I enjoy shaving. I especially appreciate the extra skill required. In fact, after I am more comfortable with the DE, I am already considering a straight razor.

After discovering all of these fine creams and soaps added with the mystique of doing it "old-school" with the brush and DE, I couldn't resist. I used to bum around with a goatee occasionally, but all these fine scents have given my senses a good swift kick, so now I'm trying to prolong the experience as long as possible every day and I shave it all!

when i was in college a few years ago i hated to shave, but ever since i learned to shave with a DE and with a good brush, it's been a joy getting different creams and such because there is no irritation with shaving. so why do i shave.... because it's a hobby now.

I keep a little facial hair which I trim once a week, the rest I like to keep cleanly shaven. Since I started wetshaving, I'll never have more than a day's stubble.

edit: and since I have three midterms and two papers i have been working on for the past week, shaving has been a great way to break and regain my focus.

well I think that shaving is a great thing you have the entire bathroom and the time you spend there just for you. I like the feel of the brush lathering my face, the feel of razor cutting them whiskers and all those details women would never understand (no offence )... BTW I'm keeping a goatee because it nicely covers the excessive fat under my chin . But all other whiskers must go! Last week my girlfriend asked me why do I always look for new stuff for shaving on the internet. She argued that there is no difference in shaving techniques, razors and stuff like that ... so I told her the next time she's going to shave her legs she has to leave it on me .... so I made decent HOT lather(she was purring like cat ) with best badger brush and gave her decent leg-shave. When I finished well ......... and then later she told me that she will never shave her legs herself and that she would like me to do it for her ... now I do not know whether it is good or bad

My beard is super hard and grows really fast' but it's 90 % full ; but since I started wetsahving, new hairs are showing (I'm sure it's the brush), so It should be full in 3 months ; 'till then, I have to shave frequently

I shave because I just personally don't like the look of beards. That's just my opinion. I don't think I'll ever grow a beard in my life though. It's just not for me. Some men suit beards, although I still think they'd look better clean-shaven. But I just wouldn't suit one at all... Plus, I couldn't go without shaving now that I've found out about the joys of DE shaving.

same here, my beard is very heavy and I find that if I leave it grow more than one day, I start getting irritations and rashes. I really enjoy the feeling of a warm, wet brush, and the scent of a nice soap or cream while I lather up, and the shave is a great way for me to relax, and put me in a good frame of mind for the day. It also helps me maintain a nice, clear complexion.
