    Default TGQ Soaps - Opinions/Thoughts?

    Hi All,

    Just a typical noob question:

I've heard some good things about TGQ soaps. Their website looks great and their soap products sound great.

What's your experience with them? Thanks in advance...

    Cheers,
    Tom

Hi Tom, Many people here love Colleene's soaps. She has some great scent combinations, and her soaps contain clay which makes them even more slick than standard glycerin pour. Her soaps do tend to have lots of EO's or FO's and may not be the best choice if you have sensitive skin.
I had a puck of her leatherneck soap, tried to use it once, but the tingling was a bit too much for me and I rinsed it off before ever using. As they say in the shaving world Your mileage may vary.

buy the shaving soap sampler. You can pick the scents you want to try w/out breaking the bank. My favorites are Leatherneck, Desert Ironwood, Oak n Moss, Bay Rum w/ Sweet Orange, Orange Patchouli and Autumn Spice.

The Lime Margarita smells great, I have tried several of her soaps with no complaint they lather up real easy and do seem to be more slick then quite a few other soaps on the market.

Yes, definitely buy the soap sampler. If you DO have sensitive skin like I do, just email Colleen and she will guide you to the soaps that only have Essential Oils in them. These are more gentle on the skin.
Her soaps are very slick, and lather nicely. Plus the scents are fantastic! My only complaint is that the scents I got in my sampler smelled rather similar to me. Just very subtle variation to them, but that MIGHT be due to the fact that they were all stored together. I have yet to determine which soaps I will buy in the future, but I'm leaning toward Oak&Moss and Highlander.
What's the point of growing old if you have no great stories to tell?

Definitely get a sampler, its a good deal and each little puck lasts a while. My experience is the lather does not look as good as something I get with Tabac or proraso, but it is very slick and I always get a really close shave when using her soaps.

    Thanks, guys!

The sampler is a great suggestion. I think I'll do that.

+1 to sampler suggestion. Got that and then bought a small puck of Desert Ironwood, Leatherneck, Highlander and a Bowl.

    She's got great smelling soap!
