    Default Best new TTO?

Well, I currently own a Merkur HD (primary,) and a Parker 89R (disassembled in the Merkur cardboard box .) However, I totally want to try a TTO. A vintage SS would have been the choice, however, I've seen vintage TTO's disassembled and the gunk inside scares me .

So far this is the list I've come up with:
    • Parker 22R: Even though I wasn't a big fan of my first Parker, looks really neat and modern.
    • "Diamond Edge Classic Safety Razor" as listed on Amazon, is this actually a Treet? Can't find any other information on it.
    • Weishi
    • Ming Shi (tempting, just because I can get it with 100 Derby blades cheap on Amazon.)

    Any thoughts or other recommendations?

    There's also the Merkur Vision:

But I'd recommend a vintage gillette. Sure there may be gunk on it, but anything harmful on its surface (blood related) would have died out years ago and you can get all the gunk out with a soak it scrubbing bubbles, barbicide, or whatever your favorite cleaner is. Go for it.

+1 on the vintage Gillette suggestion.

My experience with a Parker TTO (94R) wasn't great, even though I'm fairly new to this I think I can safely say that the vintage Gillettes are vastly better.

I haven't used any of the others so can't really comment. From what I've read the Weishi is good but mild so may not suit so well if you prefer a more agressive razor.

Vintage 40's SS! Who cares about having the deep innards of the razor spotless, as long as it's been cleaned thoroughly. You won't be sorry if you get one.

If you had to get a new one, I would probably get the Weishi. But, like others have said, get a vintage SuperSpeed.

there are NO good TTO´s being manufactured today, a vintage gillette is basicly your best choice, i would go for a slim, they are quite easy to find and aquire,
The weishi and Vincent are both cheap chinese junk, mild shavers,
the Diamond Edge / Feather popular / Treet Starline is ok, but nothing to write home about,
Parker... Parker makes decent 3 piece razors, but the TTO´s are very light, and leave much to be desired quality wise,
and the vision... the vision, having owned one i can sincerly say, it costs $100, its well over priced and i get better shaves from a $10 slim twist i have,

if you want a good TTO, vintage gillette is the way to go, (hey, it even rimes)

Looks can be deceiving. A cheap Fisher/Weishi/whoever Gillette SS clone may look identical, but shaving with one versus the other is like night and day.
