I think shaving a baby's head to encourage thicker hair is somewhat common in some Asian cultures.

Yeah, it seems strange to me, but then I try to imagine what a Barbie doll and related gear must look like to those not used to the US culture of excess and silicone.

So, intellectually I can deal with it, but much like eating seafood for breakfast, it still creeps me out a little.
