Muhle Shaving Set

Well I waited 11 agonizing days but it finally arrived safe and sound. I ordered directly from Muhle(Germany) a special made up shaving set. I can't show you a picture because I still don't have a digital camera(how weird is that). This is what I got.
2009 R41(open comb) appears to have the Merkur head(11C). This razor is simply beautiful but weighs 1 oz less then the HD and has a 3.5 in handle overall length 3.75 in.
compact badger travel brush which is 3 piece and fits into its own chrome case. It all screws together when in use.

I paid no shipping or vat charges and the service was excellent.

Ha ha. I just got mine yesterday and posted some pictures of it on another thread. Shaved with it today and thought it is just great, I enjoy and get great results from the old style heads.

What do you think of the handle? I think the design is excellent, went hmm!?! when I first handled it, but very much liked the balance when shaving with it. It is not a metal balloon like some have described it.

The handle is nice and thick and 3.5 inches long so it grips nicely. But the razor is light. The head is identical to the Merkur 11C.

Slantman, they took off the VAT on the final price? Or is it the price that is shown?

The Vat tax in Germany is 19% but when they ship to the US they never charge you for it. Also because my order was over the currency rate of $128 I paid no shipping charges.

bottom line. What ever price you see online expect to pay much less if you live outside of Germany. And since I replaced the Mach 3 with the R41 that lowered the price even more. I dealt with Christian Mueller via email only and he handled everything perfectly. He said it would be delivered in 10 days but I got it in 11 only because of Presidents Day holiday. The only surprise was a foreign currency conversion tax but that was only 1.36 no big deal.
