    Default Minor League Baseball prices

Here in Atlanta we are getting a new AAA baseball league, the Gwinnett Braves. Obviously the tickets will be less than a major league game. But I was wondering if the beer and food prices are usually a good bit cheaper than the minor league games. Anyone have experience with this? I'm looking forward to baseball season, but not $8 beer.

In the summer months, I live for "Thirsty Thursdays." $2 beers and a baseball game. OH yeah!
The rest of the time, they're not all that bad. Certainly not 8 bucks!

Been meaning to make it to a local minor league baseball stadium here in town. It's supposed to be a lot cheaper, and from what I hear they have a lot of great food and some really bizzare stuff. I believe there was something about a cheeseburger served on a "bun" of krispy kreme doughnuts.

Everything is much much cheaper. And the games are usually really good. AA and AAA ballgames are really worth it.

+1 on that. That's the one night of the week that Portland's AAA team is sure to draw a crowd. Monday's are $1 hot dog nights, if I recall correctly. Highest priced ticket is $15. Pretty cool.

We used to go to the Yankees AAA games and it was a great time. Cheap food and beer along with players that were on their way to the big leagues. The promotions are fun and the atmosphere can't be beat.

I'm not a huge baseball fan but I enjoyed AAA games way more than the majors. Same with hockey actually, it seems the younger players are trying to make it and the older guys are playing because they love the game and aren't ready to walk away.

I love the Minor Leagues!! Everything is much cheaper. When I used to live in Cincinnati, had 8 minor league teams within a 2 hour drive. I'm now stuck with the Vermont Lake Monsters. Good prices, horrible stadium.

Awesome, I was hoping to hear that. Cheap beer, cheap food and wacky promotions. Nice. I'll probably still make it to an Atlanta game or two, but with a cheaper option that avoids downtown Atlanta (:9898:) I'll definitly be going to more of these games.

    Thanks everyone!

I played in the minors, and I can tell you that the atmosphere is a lot more intimate than the majors. The organization always told us that the quality of baseball player is no different in terms of talent; the difference is in the consistency of play.

You'll notice a difference up the middle (catcher, pitcher, centerfield), but the overall quality of minor league baseball is VERY good. In fact, I would say that it is a much better entertainment value for your money than the Bigs. IMHO
