    Default Vetiver - Aphrodisiac?

So, I was at this "Expo" and noticed a fellow selling soaps. He said one could shave with them, but haven't tried that yet.

I did pick up a bar of Vetiver scented soap and was told it was quite the aphrodisiac - so I'm wondering if this is true? It was under $5 cash and it smells great, yet I am highly skeptical of the alleged properties of this scent.

    Any comments?

Oh and the web site is http://copasoaps.com/

I did a lot of reading of reviews of the Guerlain Vetiver cologne before buying, and didn't see any mention of this. But, let's hope it's true!

My only regret is that I have but one face to shave.

I don't know about this soap but Mrs. EL Alamein definitely likes vetiver scents. I've noticed such scents produce a certain "reaction" lets say. This is especially true of Floris Vetiver. Each woman is an individual so you can't draw any conclusions about the population in general. It's always fun to experiment though.

My GF also seems to err..."take" to vetiver scents. Same goes for anything with real sandalwood in it.

Some oils just have certain effects on some people. I guess it's in the same vein as Lavender being considered "calming", Citrus scents are "uplifting" and woody scents like Patchouli and Sandalwood are supposed stress reducers.

I actually tried the Guerlain last weekend at a Sephora near my house. One of the clerks smiled at me as I was leaving.

I have noticed that vetiver produces a reaction in the gf and a couple have commented on the scent.

I always thought Vetiver drove the women away.
    YMMV? I don't think so.

Ah always new the middle scent in Aqua Velva was a good one. Now I might have to splurge for something along the same lines but different.

Lou, I am assigning you the chore of conducting a thorough clinical trial and reporting your results when you get out of the hospital. Good luck, my friend!

In my honest opinion I think there might be some truth to that; however, I also think that scents, which may be an aphrodisiac, have to be compatible with your body's chemitry for certain properties to be ablet to do their work.

My girlfriend loves Creed Original Vetiver, and Trumpers Sandalwood (has a hint of vetiver) on me so much that she wants me to wear at "certain times" because it makes her feel "a certain way" about me. So I say vetiver could definitely be an aphrodisiac.
