Everything else in the order was just fine and I have enjoyed doing business with Classic Shaving since then and expect to do so again. But I'll stay away from their soap!
My only experience is with the Sandalwood scent. It was a freebie with my mug. At first I though it was an unscented variety, since it was quite weak, but the more I buried my nose in it and after I lathered it up, I would characterize it as kinda like dirt. Not "organic" or "earthy" or any other catch word, just dirt. Nothing to write home about.
I was also let down by the lack of lather. I tried it with a wet brush, drier brush, adding water, lathering longer, loading the brush better, wetting the puck pre-shave, etc. It all turned out light, airy, and too bubbly, with no body to it. The more I added water and whipped it, it just went from bubbly to runny. Needless to say it's under the sink now and outta play.
