Default First Post, looking to convert to wetshaving

Hello, I am looking to buy a merkur classic hd (obvious choice as i'm new to wetshaving). anyone have any idea where to get one in chicago? I know people will recommend Merz's but neither location carries this razor.

also, what's a good cream/soap to use for one with oily skin/acne, is there anything that can help this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to B&B. You can always puchase an HD at westcoastshaving.com
They also carry a nice blade sampler. Enjoy the shave!!!

    Welcome to B&B,

AOS makes a soap and cream for oily skin there lemon scented line but it is rather expensive although it is great cream

myself I am not so sure a soap or cream will really matter or make that much difference to oily skin as you are shaving it right off, what I do recommend though is an alcohol based after shave and not a balm that's what has worked for me

I don't find that anything used before the aftershave step affects my oily skin.

    Welcome.

I can't really offer specifics on skin care products for oily skin; but, as a general statement that I think other guys will echo, wetshaving has improved my skin's appearance measurably.
